A drop of water flows over the rocks just once but its effects last forever. Together the droplets form a stream, which in turn shape and mold the rocks. We all are like a single drop of water. Leaving a mark on others. Together we can mold and shape one another for good or bad.
A young boy named Tommy (Tommy may never know the impact he had on a nine-year-old girl.) was legally deaf and blind. He showed a young girl how he reads in brail. She grew up to be a special needs teacher. You can read the story Dream Takes Root under Monday Memories. Not only did Tommy influence her career choice but also a motto she would teach her students and her children.
It doesn’t matter if you think you are the least liked or geekiest, the last one picked or feel invisible, someone somewhere admires you and wants to be just like you. You are an example to someone whether you want to be or not, so you better be a good one.
GOD did not choose only the rich and famous. More often than not he chose those who others looked down on. The shepherds, tax collectors, fishermen and harlots to be the examples of His grace and to spread His word to the world. One of the biggest influences was a martyr and murderer. He can use you today.
Your story matters. Find ways to use it to help others. You maybe like Tommy and never know fully the impact you have on another person. So strive to be a good influence.
Like a rock dropped in the water making a plop that’s it. But if you watch closely there are ripples extending out and each ring gets bigger the further out it travels. You too send out ripples. You are here for a reason. I pray it’s so you can see no matter what, your story has an impact on others for generations to come.
