Walk in His Light
Walk in His Light

Amy was young but not so innocent. She was caught doing things she should not have been doing. Once before the judge, she had no defense. But a man she did not know came in and said he would plead her case. He told the judge he would guide Amy to a better life.
He convinced the judge to let Amy go into his care. He became her rescuer.
In the John 8 passage, we read of a woman brought before the judges. Jesus is the stranger who rescues her. If we read the verse before we find Jesus, ask, “where are those who accuse you.”
The Way Home

While out sailing the fog rolled in like a heavy blanket. You could only see a few feet in front of you. The winds howled and the waters rolled. Which direction was home? As you scan the horizon a beam of light flashes. As you watch it flashes again and again. There is now the reassurance of finding your way home. You know if you follow the light you will find your way.
Back in Devotion one, Milk, We learned once the light in the room was turned on the light escaped through the cracks. The light cannot be contained. You open the door and the light spills out to the next room. If that room is dark and nothing is in the way and you open the door across the room to the outside the light will go on. While you stand in the light you cannot see how far it goes. But if you go outside and walk away you will still see the light. Your eyes will be drawn to it until something blocks it. That is why coastal areas use lighthouses. Because even in the dark foggy nights the ships can still see the light and they look to it to guide them home. [Read more…] about The Way Home

He is Risen, Indeed! Praise the LORD!
My world has changed. I’m sure most of yours have done the same. Having retired over ten years ago, staying home, being alone is not so different. But the idea I can’t just hop in the car to see family and friends or run to the store every day if I’d like has changed. I am a terrible snail mail person as I have great intentions, even write the letters but can’t seem to find the way to the mailbox. It is sad, I know. My form of communication changed long ago when the internet came into our lives. Even so, my style of communication has changed over the last month. How have things changed for you?
Are you and your family doing well? Have you been staying in the Light of the LORD? In His word? [Read more…] about Devotions and Lessons

John 8:12 when Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life.”
First John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him, and he declared to you, God is the light in him there is no darkness at all.
Something startled Jake awake. Opening his eyes, he had a strange feeling. This couldn’t be right; he must be dreaming. His room generally wasn’t this dark, even on a dark night. The electricity must be off. [Read more…] about SONlight
