He is Risen, Indeed! Praise the LORD!
My world has changed. I’m sure most of yours have done the same. Having retired over ten years ago, staying home, being alone is not so different. But the idea I can’t just hop in the car to see family and friends or run to the store every day if I’d like has changed. I am a terrible snail mail person as I have great intentions, even write the letters but can’t seem to find the way to the mailbox. It is sad, I know. My form of communication changed long ago when the internet came into our lives. Even so, my style of communication has changed over the last month. How have things changed for you?
Are you and your family doing well? Have you been staying in the Light of the LORD? In His word?
Today is Easter. This Easter is much the same, yet, very different all at once. It will be hubby, myself, and our youngest—the same as the last few years. But there will be no sunrise service. There will be turkey dinner, but no eggs to color or fancy new clothes to wear. We will still dress in our finest for dinner. This year we will focus more on the real power of Easter. He has Risen!
All this to tell you this Easter is not so different. Can you imagine what the first Easter was like in biblical times? Those at the cross the day the savior died were there knowing they might die along with him. Not on the cross but because it was against the law for them to be there. Crowds had to watch from afar. Jesus’ crucifixion meant women were not allowed to wail or express their sorrow for the LORD, the way they did for others who died naturally. GOD protected them as they stood watching His Son die. It was the women who first discovered Jesus was missing on Easter morning. Can you imagine their shock?
Luke 9:23-24 NIV
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.
They did not know Christ was before them, behind them and beside them. DO you know He is there?
Some places are finning people for not following the quarantine. I pray GOD is protecting you. I pray you are seeking His face like those at the cross. Praying you won’t be shocked to learn Christ is not in the tomb but be singing praises He lives today Indeed!
May we learn to take the verse of His risen body and read all that surrounds it, The verses before and after. May we read the chapter and learn the context. May our eyes be open to His love and promises. Each time you read the verses, may you see the more profound meaning and His love for you.
Let us help each other learn to crave the milk, bread, meat, and honey of the LORD. His word.
1 Peter 2:1-3 (NIV)
Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Precious LORD,
Thank you for taking on our sins yesterday, today, and tomorrow. May we seek your face, your SONshine. Praises you live today!

Beautifully said! So grateful for that rolled-back stone, and that empty tomb that proclaims our Savior LIVES!
